The much awaited Alumni Day 2009 was organised by the
SSN Alumni Association on the 15th August 2009 at the
College auditorium. It was an occasion where friendship
was renewed and memories were recalled. Some of the
alumni had to come a long way from different parts of
Tamil Nadu to attend the event and share their
experiences.
A new set of office bearers were elected. The main focus
this year will be on how to take the alumni association
forward by getting more registrations in the website and
making the association more vibrant and active.
The outgoing Alumni President, Mr.Dinesh Babu first
welcomed the gathering. The mike was then taken over
by Dr. S. Salivahanan, Principal where he gave a
brief overview of the last year at SSN. This was
followed by a presentation by Mr. Dinesh Babu,
Alumni President and Mr. Avinash Sekhar, Vice
President on the Alumni activities planned and
conducted during the year.
A add a lighter side to the event, a round of
Tambola was held. The entire proceeds from sale of
tickets was given back as prizes. Other attractions
included a Campus Tour, where the alumni were helped
by the juniors to have a glimpse of the new
developments on the Campus. The programme ended with
a sumptuous lunch. The alumni left the place with
fond memories of the day and an eagerness to return
next year.
